Hope Harms is one of the original CDFI board members, serving since its founding in 2010. She is a former school teacher, having taught special education and/or art for 15 years. She received her BFA from James Madison University and her Master’s of Education in Special Education from George Mason University. She is married to other Board Member, Michael Harms, and is currently a stay-at-home mom, taking care of their 4 crazy boys. Their oldest son, Donald, was adopted from West Haven Children’s Home in Jamaica, coming home in 2013. Hope is a member of Living Hope Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Haymarket, Virginia.
