Michael Harms is one of the original CDFI board members, serving since its founding in 2010. He is a former special education teacher, teaching in a public middle school in northern Virginia for over 12 years. He now does resource analysis for the Federal Government. He received his BA from Virginia Tech and his Master’s of Education in Special Education from George Mason University. He is married to other Board Member, Hope Harms, and together they have 4 crazy boys. Their oldest son, Donald, was adopted from West Haven Children’s Home in Jamaica, coming home in 2013. Michael is a member of Living Hope Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Haymarket, Virginia.
