“We cannot all do great things, but we can do small things with great love, and together we can do something wonderful.”

– Mother Teresa

Sponsorship has the power to change the life of a child living with special needs in Kenya, and to provide critical support to families caring for children with disabilities.

For just $50 a month, you’ll help an extremely vulnerable child to receive medical attention (includes all regular care as well as any therapy or surgery), appropriate educational placement when possible, home based care and support to families, and advocacy in their community. Most importantly, you’ll be showing God’s love in a personal way to a special child.

Below, meet the children who are waiting to be sponsored by someone like you.

Santiago Govoga

Age: 13

Santiago lives in rural Kenya and has a physical disability.

Santiago was born healthy but at five years old he sustained a bad fall. He received treatment but has suffered with a physical impairment since that time. Santiago lives with his aging paternal grandparents. His parents are separated. Santiago’s father is a casual laborer in Mombasa and works to support his children. Santiago has five siblings, all who live with their grandmother. He is generally an optimistic and jovial boy. Santiago loves to play with toy cars. He is in fifth grade and is doing well in school. At Christmas 2021, he received a toy car, teddy bear, handkerchief, pen and pencil from CDFI. With the help of a sponsor, Santiago will continue with his education, will receive the medical support he needs, and will have the opportunity to reach his full potential.
