“We cannot all do great things, but we can do small things with great love, and together we can do something wonderful.”

– Mother Teresa

Sponsorship has the power to change the life of a child living with special needs in Kenya, and to provide critical support to families caring for children with disabilities.

For just $50 a month, you’ll help an extremely vulnerable child to receive medical attention (includes all regular care as well as any therapy or surgery), appropriate educational placement when possible, home based care and support to families, and advocacy in their community. Most importantly, you’ll be showing God’s love in a personal way to a special child.

Below, meet the children who are waiting to be sponsored by someone like you.

John Okoth

Age: 10

John lives in rural Kenya and has cerebral palsy.

John was born at home with the help of a midwife along with his twin sister who has no disability. At 8 months old, John’s mother noticed that his sister had more progress in her developmental milestones than John and that John’s seemed delayed. She took him to the hospital where he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. John started therapy sessions at that time. John’s father’s name is Wilson and he is a casual laborer. His mother’s name is Grace and she sells vegetables for a living. She has benefited from CDFI’s microenterprise program. John is one of seven children. With the help of a sponsor, John will continue to receive home based care and support, therapies and medical treatments, and will have the opportunity to reach his full potential.
